Experiments in Music は、ボストン響のトロンボーン奏者ノーマン・ボルターが企画・プロデュースした自作曲のコンサートのライブ盤です。 参加プレイヤーには、ダクラス・イェーやスコット・ハーマンなどの名前もあります。作品の方も結構良い音楽を書いていると思います。 聞き所は２曲目・４曲目です。なかなかの演奏をしています。ANEW AT HOME は、このノーマン・ボルターが企画・プロデュースした自作曲のシリーズのもう１枚です。なぜか彼の作品に私は惹かれます。 こちらは、全曲ノーマン・ボルターがソロを勤めます。スタジオ録音なので、ライブ盤の方より演奏の完成度は高いです。
Occurrence も同様のシリーズのものです。特に、バストロンボーンとピアノのための Sagittarius 2 は、新たなバストロンボーンのレパートリーとして有望な曲です。
